Sweet On MANGO Semiconductor Stock Market Analyst Top Chip Manufacturers Portfolio

With semiconductor stocks recovering from recent lows of the stock market correction, a Wall Street analyst has assembled a portfolio of high-conviction names that investors should consider.

BofA Securities analyst Vivek Arya has created a grouping of major semiconductor stocks under the acronym MANGO. MANGO stocks include Marvell Technology (MRVL), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Analog Devices (ADI), Broadcom (AVGO), Nvidia (NVDA), GlobalFoundries (GFS) and Onsemi (ON). Arya combined the three tickers starting with A as a letter in the acronym.

The MANGO wallet is a “crude attempt to build a FANG equivalent in the semifinals,” Arya said in a note to customers on Friday. FANG stocks are leading internet stocks including Facebook’s Meta Platforms (FB), Amazon.com (AMZN), Netflix (NFLX), and Google’s Alphabet (GOOGL).

The Philadelphia semiconductor index, known as SOX, underperformed the S&P 500 index this year due to concerns about the chip cycle, Arya said. But it remains positive on the sector due to long-term secular growth opportunities. From the beginning of the year, until the close on Friday, the SOX was down 10.7% while the S&P was down 4.7%.
